Great location, spacious rooms, comfortable beds. I would recommend this hotel for travellers that are not picky with the level of service, because the level of it is not stable.
We stayed last year in quadriple and this year 6 nights in dbl. With this term a fridge in the double room would not hurt. The rooms are spacious but carpet and walls had stains, though daily cleaning was good. This year were not so lucky with the staff. The girl on our check in date and gentleman on check out were very nice and helpful but a couple of days later we came to reception to confirm that to get to Keukenhoff we need to get a bus to Schiphol first then take another bus to the flower park. The receptionist (she said her name was Rose) acidly said she doesn't know this and anyway "does not remember the bus timetable "by head" though this was not the question we asked... Ok, we can get the info elsewhere but the tone and manners of this young lady were very disappointing.

the breakfast was good selection and excellent service.
the Joop's hotel's picture from internet was taken at ambassador hotel, it was the accommodation which attached to ambassador hotel. I was not happy to access outside street to hotel with keycard+no security, room was old and outdated beds and TV, shower has no curtain etc. I never ask this hotel again.

The room we had was larger than anticipated and there was a huge bathtub. The room was also on the 4th floor and had a terrace which made watching the fireworks on New Years eve a fabulous experience. The location was great, right in the city center among shops, etc. and close to the train station and bus stops.
When I reserved the room the website led me to believe there would be a phone and an alarm clock in the room. There was neither. Also, making local telephone calls was difficult at the front desk. One staff member in particular insisted that the person I was trying to call had the phone off the hook and was very unhelpful. It turns out that the phone available for guests to use needs to be switched on the the office in order to allow outgoing calls, not that at the other end the phone is off the hook. Lastly, the fire alarm is extraordinarily sensitive. Don't shower with the door open as the steam will set off the alarm. For the remainder of our stay I was paranoid I would set it off again.

No coffee service in room; beds were really hard; "whole room shower" without shower curtain to protect towels, clothing from getting wet is a nuisance.

Mainly clean, except that the carpeting was old and stained, dated.

Nice hotel, great room and clean. It was convenient to stay there and most importantly is located at the superior.

Location was excellent. Breakfast at the Ambassador Hotel nearby was also good. Beds are just OK. Bathroom mediocre. If you're staying for one night I think it's good choice.
Our room wasn't very clean. There was a stain in the toilet and the carpet was awful. Rooms are very basic.
